Assistant Program Coordinator

Job Purpose

Our company is looking for a compassionate and highly organized Program Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will support Yazmi’s projects and ensure that goals and objectives are accomplished.

Duties and Responsibilities

Communication

  • Monitoring project progress
  • Follow up with stakeholders on completing or delaying project phases
  • Scheduling meetings and maintaining project documents and reports
  • Review, produce and submit required documents and letters
  • Maintain organized and accurate filing of all documents related to projects
  • Basic understanding and knowledge of government structure
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills
  • Sharp attention to detail with an extraordinary ability to multitask
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills
  • Willing to perform additional tasks as may be required by managers
  • Managing program-related internal and external communications
  • Carry out administrative duties as required to facilitate an efficient working environment
  • Prior experience working as a program assistant in a relevant field preferred

Working Condition

  • Willing to travel and occasionally work unsocial hours. 

Term of Contract: Contractual  

Qualifications

 Education and Training 

  • Degree in a related field preferred or equivalent combination of training and experience

Work Experience Requirement  

  • Experience in program coordination 
  • Experience with government organizations
  • Experience with international customs and clearance processing

Skills and Competency 

  • Fluent in BOTH in English and Amharic (Spoken and Written)
  • Proficient in Microsoft  
  • Analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills 

In addition to these vital abilities, the Assistant Program Coordinator should also be capable of updating job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, numeracy skills to analyze facts and figures, and demonstrating loyalty and commitment to the organization and team members.
